OK, this is a question I actually want you to answer. If I want to grow organic vegetables in my garden, do I need to start with seeds that say "organic" on the package? Or can I start with any seeds, and then grow them organically?
ReplyDeleteYes- you need to buy organic to get organic. If they are not labeled organic that seed may have been harvested from a pesticide sprayed fruit or vegetable and be contaminated from the get go. Another reason to buy organic-- Monsanto has genetically engineered seeds to be sterile, meaning you can not harvest your own seeds and replant them next year. You would have to buy new seeds every single year. The best seed is an organic seed that is labeled HEIRLOOM. Depending on the type of plant, Heirloom either means it will continue to fruit year after year (like a raspberry bush) OR you can harvest the seeds and replant next year (like a bell pepper).
