What's in Season in February?

Do you ever wonder what fruits and veggies are in season?

It's hard to tell when you go to the grocery store because we import so much food from places like Mexico, Ecuador, and Chile. Obviously we never grow certain things here (like bananas and pineapple) so sometimes your only option is to buy imported fruit. But when possible we should eat what is in season. This is when it is the most flavorful, has the most nutritional value and will also be at the best price.

I found a few helpful websites that can tell you what is in season in whatever state you are in.
Californians are so lucky to live in this mecca of fresh produce! Seriously, did you know we grow over half the nations fruits, nuts, and vegetables?

Here is a short list of things we should be eating right now!

Avocados
Broccoli
Swiss Chard
Grapefruit
Kale
Kumquats
Lemons
Mushrooms
Oranges
Tangerines

Check these websites to find out what is in season near you!
